Next Up...ODRAM: One Day Ride Across Michigan

It's funny that I keep posting on here....like someone is going to keep reading this...I guess I'm telling myself that I must keep riding my bike after RAGBRAI.  I have a 152 mile day coming up August 18! Gotta keep rolling!

Dangit!...

I always hate this part! Until next time.....happy riding.
BTW, for those who will ask.  I completed 290 of the 477 miles.  It was vacation after all... :)

What's hotter than RAGBRAI in July?

Well, nothing is, but this is pretty close!....

Heading back to Michigan...

Geocaching at a rest stop

Our pad for the night.

The famous Mr. Porkchop.

They burn empty cobs for fuel. That's what the pink bus is full of. About a 100 chops cooked at a time. It's how they do it.

Strong chicks ride bikes too..

...at the marines tent. Guys do pull-ups. I skipped that, didn't want to show off. :)

A salute to our troops!

A great job at building a water station...

The sign for it? Not so much....

RAGBRAI and apple pie go together :)

Well ya...

...it is Iowa!

A serious road rider! :)

Sara did an awesome job with the high traffic and some good hills.

1st break stop...

Free bananas and water even!

Sara's first RAGBRAI day under her own power.

This is making our way thru the first town. Very congested after leaving Cedar Rapids.

Thanks to my iPhone...

We are able to do a little geocaching while on RAGBRAI. That's a first!

A little fixture...

Next to our campsite here in Cedar Rapids.

Yes I'm really here.

Self-portrait from the saddle.

Draft line.

Trying to capture a photo of a draft line is difficult....when you're in the draft line especially.

A much different day....

After the 1" of rain in a half hr and high winds last night the temps dropped and winds shifted for a tailwind today. I did 55 miles before heading in with the Fam.

A nice little garage party...

Waiting for out team half way thru today

As Wal-mart does over K-mart....

Klean Kanteen will one day prevail!

It works for some....

RAGBRAI shower.

Who knew?....

My childhood home makes for a good campsite for some riders from Colorado.

This looks familiar.

My hometown courthouse.

Stopped at my Grandma's retirement home...

...just in time to catch dessert with her in the cafe! Coffee cake and ice water no less.

Main intersection of town....

....it's a small town. 17 more mi to M'town.

Every droplet counts this week.

I shortened the day today thanks to the camper. 17 mi outside of my hometown of Marshalltown. The semi-tailwind riding East is great, the mostly headwind going South is brutal.

Another different way.

An updated Iowa landscape.
