...but it still yielded a run and a couple sprints to 2nd base! :)  Ryan really enjoying the baseball season!

Our wall at our times end, 2 boys from the village in their teens seeing the ocean for the first time, and it's 5 mi away, and a little different menu at BK, complete with a beer.

Dodgers spring training complex just down from the poverty, the poverty in our village, our daily lunch place, kids using our cinder blocks to crack open a nut we would never eat.

Here are a few of us hanging with the kids in their schoolyard....totally interrupting their day....though the teachers back off their plans know we are here :) The kids at the table are eating their lunch today. 

Life in the DR....

Here are a few pics of the first day.  We are half done with the 1st of 3 walls we're working on to enclose about 1/4 acre of land...which now has several small trees and a bunch of trash.  It will be as hard to get that prepared for planting as it is to wall around it.  Thankfully there is a group of 20 others from the US coming down in a few weeks.  Kids are a blast to hang out with which we did a lot of today though I'll have to share those in another post, they love giving us "Americanos" hugs, high fives, and fist bumps.  Great to see them getting a "decent" meal for lunch thanks to an American group who is supporting that....for $.34 a meal.  It's often the only, or the best meal of their day and it's the reason many are in school in the first place.  Here are a few pics...totally blessed time thus far. Perfect 80 deg weather and lots of sun...a little different than what many are dealing with in the US. God Bless.

Just a little snow!

Crazy amounts of snow have fallen here in Holland!!  The kids & I (mom) have not had a full week of school yet-since Christmas break!!  This is taken at Ryan and Luke's elementary -their feet are above the windows!!  

And it is STILL snowing!!!!!
